ORIGINALLY FROM: Cheshire, Connecticut MOVED TO ATLANTA: In the Fall of '93 HISTORY AT B98.5FM: Before getting in to the radio biz I worked at a couple of newspapers, a TV station and an ad agency around the Hartford area. I had always wanted a career in radio and finally got the opportunity as a traffic reporter for a service that provided traffic reports for a bunch of stations in CT. In '93 I decided it was time to leave New England so I loaded up the car and drove to Georgia without a job and only $500 in my pocket. To pay the bills I started waiting tables at American Roadhouse in Virginia-Highlands and a few months later got a p/t gig doing traffic for WSB Radio. Shortly after that I started working for B98.5FM's Promotions Dept (helping out at remotes, etc) and eventually clawed my way up to Promotions Director. I had always wanted to do more on-air work and I jumped at the chance to join the Morning Show in 2006. FAVORITE B98.5FM ARTISTS: Pretty much all of them...but especially the artists of the 70's and 80's. FAVORITE TV SHOWS: American Idol, 30 Rock, American Dad (check out the alien, Roger, who talks like Paul Lynde...very funny), The Simpson's, Family Guy, and lots of shows on HGTV.
FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN ATLANTA: Hanging out with my friends around the Grant Park/East Atlanta area. I love going to concerts and it's that time of year when some great shows are coming to Chastain Park and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park. If you're in town check out these restaurants: Agave in Cabbagetown, Six Feet Under (near Oakland Cemetery) or Einstein's in Midtown.
WHEN I'M NOT WORKING YOU CAN FIND ME DOING THIS: I try and walk every day and the 2 miles around Grant Park where I live seems to be a nice way to unwind and exercise at the same time. Weekends you can find me working for B98.5FM at various events (come out and say "hey") or heading up to Jasper, GA where I have a small, rustic cabin in the woods. I love the mountain towns in North Georgia. especially Ellijay and Blue Ridge. The Apple Festival in Ellijay is a hoot.
PETS: A cat named Rizzo, a Sheltie named Scarlett and a dachshund/beagle mix named Stella. Check out The Pet Friendly Page on this website for information on adopting a pet. You won't regret it. |
