COULD NEIL DIAMOND BE #1??? FOR THE FIRST TIME???
According to Billboard Magazine, Neil Diamond is on his way to nabbing the #1 album spot next week with his new release, Home Before Dark. This would however knock Madonna's Hard Candy out of the top spot. Not sure how Madge would take that. But here's another interesting tidbit: If Neil's new CD hits #1...it will be the first time ever in his 40-plus years he's been in the biz. That's right...Hot August Night, The Jazz Singer, Jonathon Livingston Seagull...never made it to #1. Hey I'm not surprised by the seagull movie...what was that all about? I guess it was the 70's.

LET'S TALK CHRISTMAS
John Waters is working on a new movie...a Christmas film! Johnny Knoxville and Parker Posey are reportedly attached to star in the flick, FRUITCAKE. The plot centers on the title character, a boy named after his favorite dessert. He runs away from home during the holidays after he and his parents are caught shoplifting meat. Hey...you were expecting "It's a Wonderful Life"?

GO, SPEED RACER, GO!
The new movie Speed Racer opens in theatres today...and the reviews are "stinkeroo". USA Today gave it 1 and 1/2 stars...AP is saying it's WAY too long for kids (2 hours and 15 minutes). Another reviewer said if you have to see a movie this weekend you'd be better off seeing Iron Man for a second time.
