Fighting Cancer With Food
Eating lots of fruits and vegetables can help reduce your cancer risk. That's one reason the American Cancer Society recommends eating at least 5 servings of these foods every day. A banana here and a salad there can add up throughout the day and get you to your goal quickly.

Don’t Ignore Warning Signs
It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Early detection gives you better odds in beating breast cancer. So if you notice any of these warning signs, make sure to consult with your doctor:

• Lump, hard knot, or thickening of tissue
• Unusual swelling, warmth, redness or darkening
• Change in breast size or shape
• Dimpling or puckering of the skin
• An itchy, scaly sore or rash on the nipple
• “Pulling in” of the nipple or other parts of the breast
• Nipple discharge that starts suddenly
• Pain in one spot that does not vary with your monthly cycle

Pink Ribbon Saturday, October 10th is an annual event in which Susan G. Komen for the Cure volunteers visit 25 Metro Atlanta Kroger stores - including our Moreland Avenue Store and Roswell Rd Fountain Oaks Store to share literature and information in support of breast cancer awareness. During October, we are also fundraising for Komen for the Cure. Stop by any Kroger store, at any register, and purchase a “pink ribbon icon” or buy a specially designed pink re-usable bag for $2.
