Dear Steve and Vikki,

My name is Sergeant First Class Danny C. Williamson, and I am the Platoon Sergeant for the 1st Platoon of the 278th Military Police Company. We are known as the Wildcards. I have been in the Army for over 25 years, and during that time, I have never found a mission that my soldiers and I could not accomplish until now. We have received so many cards and letters from your listeners that there is no way that we can answer them all.

So I am sending you this letter from my soldiers and myself in the hope that you will read it to your listeners. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you and you listeners for the kind supportive cards and letters. I am sitting here watching the soldiers read the cards and sharing them with their buddies. There is not one face without a smile on it. It is often easy to get the blues when you are away from home. You and your listeners have really lifted our spirits, and we are all eternally grateful. Some of my soldiers have expressed a desire to visit with some of the students and their schools when we return home. Many of them received cards from schools in their hometowns, and they would like to show their appreciation in person when we return home if it is possible. I will add my e-mail address so that we can coordinate it if they wish. I am also attaching a picture of our platoon so that you can put it on your website if anyone is interested.

Thank you seems so inadequate when we try to express our gratitude to you and your listeners, but never has a thank you been more sincere. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all of your listeners, and May God Bless America.
