After graduating from UGA, Herschel Walker named Ambassador by Trump

It has been quite a year for UGA legend Herschel Walker, who graduated more than 40 years after leaving school for a pro football career, and now has been tabbed for an ambassadorship by President-elect Trump.

Walker won a Heisman Trophy and a National Championship during his time as a Georgia Bulldogs’ running back, but it wasn’t until Thursday that he earned a degree in Housing Management and Policy.

He struck a Heisman pose as he crossed the stage for his diploma. His next stop could be the Bahamas after Donald Trump announced Walker as his pick to become U.S. Ambassador to the island nation.

This comes two years after an unsuccessful bid for Democrat Raphael Warnock’s Senate seat.

In his social media announcement Trump noted that Walker has traveled to hundreds of military installations to work on removing the stigma around mental health.
