NAPLES, Fla. — Golfers at a Florida country club encountered an unusually large interloper on the course Wednesday and were more than happy to allow him to play through.

A 10-foot alligator, who strolled across the grounds of the Valencia Golf & Country Club in Naples, captivated onlookers for several minutes and has become a literal overnight social media sensation.
Matt Devitt, a meteorologist at WINK-TV in Southwest Florida, shared the photo on his Twitter account on Thursday.

Wednesday’s walkabout marked the second time in as many weeks that an enormous alligator visited a Florida golf course, the Sun Sentinel reported.
A video captured in October showed another 10-foot gator enjoying Duran Golf Club in Melbourne.
