INGREDIENTS:
- 2 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs, beaten to blend
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup plus 1 to 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (see Cook’s Note)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam, preferably seedless, warmed
- 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 banana, halved crosswise and thinly sliced lengthwise
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
- Maple syrup and whipped cream, for serving
